The first Finals edition of the Casualty Ward for 2022 is here to deliver all your injury news. In this edition, we only keep the players from teams still competing in the competition. We stay on top of all the latest news, with the added insights of our team's Physiotherapist and Podiatrist.

Returned in the Quarter-Final:
Hunter Paisami (Reds) - Missed rd 14 after reaggravating his shoulder in rd 13. Came back via the bench this week.
Harry Johnson-Holmes (Waratahs) - Came back from his rd 11 knee injury. Might have been a bit undercooked because we didn't see him run with the ball all night.
Luke Reimer (Brumbies) - Tore his MCL (knee) in rd 14 but recovered quickly to start the game.
Etene Nanai-Seturo (Chiefs) - Finally made his comeback from an unexplained extended absence.
Shannon Frizell (Highlanders) - Back on the bench after recovering from his rd 8 MCL tear.
Rieko Ioane (Blues) - Back from a hamstring tear to start at outside centre.
Richie Mo'unga (Crusaders) -Back after missing 2 weeks with a finger injury.
Codie Taylor (Crusaders) - Back after missing 2 weeks with a rib injury.
Bryn Hall (Crusaders) - Pulled pregame in rd 15 but recovered to play this week.
Likely back this week (Semi-Finals):
Rob Valetini (Brumbies) - Injured his hamstring in rd 13. Expected to be fit this week. Source.
Shooter Stevenson (Chiefs) - Injured his right knee as he twisted in a tackle in rd 9. Was seen with a brace on later during the game. Originally meant to be back in 2-3 weeks. This would be 8 weeks since the injury so he should be fit.
Kaleb Trask (Chiefs) - Came off with a concussion in rd 15 so all going well he should be available.
Sam Cane (Chiefs) - Came off with a knee injury in rd 14, apparently it isn't expected to be too bad, but won't play until the semi final. Source.
Josh Lord (Chiefs) - Twisted his knee in training before rd 14. Now expected to only return in the semi's. Source.
Quinten Strange (Crusaders) - Suffered a big calf tear in rd 8. Cleared fit to play in the semi-final. Source.
Sione Havili Talitui (Crusaders) - Tore his hamstring in rd 11. The Crusaders have said they have no injury concerns outside of Blackadder so we assume he is available for selection if needed. Source.
New Injuries (Quarter-Finals):
Seru Uru (Reds) - Came off with a shoulder injury.
Tate McDermott (Reds) - Had to take a medical cart off the field following a head knock. Was walking around comfortably after the game.
Dave Porecki (Waratahs) - Pulled pregame.
Len Ikitau (Brumbies) - Red carded for a high tackle. He has been banned for 3 weeks and reduced to 2 games because he will undertake the safe tackling course. Source.
Finlay Brewis (Crusaders) - Pulled pregame but we believe he is available if needed again this week given the Crusaders said they have no injury concerns outside of Blackadder. Source.
Ethan Blackadder (Crusaders) - Came off after dislocating his left shoulder. They are waiting on scans to see if he needs an operation, but won't play again this Super Rugby season either way. Source.
Bryce Heem (Blues) - Came off with a concussion.
Dalton Papali'i (Blues) - Pulled pregame with appendicitis. This could keep him out for up to 6 weeks. Source.
Thomas Umaga-Jensen (Highlanders) - Came off the field with a shoulder injury late in the first half.
Aaron Smith (Highlanders) - Pulled pregame after injuring his groin on Thursday.
Billy Harmon (Highlanders) - Came off with a concussion.
Scott Gregory (Highlanders) - Suffered a hamstring tear kicking a ball and had to come off.
Andrew Makalio (Highlanders) - Red carded early against the Blues so will face the judiciary.
Sam Cane (Chiefs) - Pulled pregame but was always in serious doubt of being fit.

Brumbies
Chris Feauai-Sautia - Suffered a hamstring injury at training on Wednesday before rd 5. Source.
Jesse Mogg - Suffered a knee injury in rd 7 (we suspect a PCL injury given he jumped and landed on the point of his knee). Apparently out for at least 6 weeks so could return for rd 14. Source.
NEW ZEALAND
Chiefs
Simon Parker - Out with a niggly injury that could have him out long term as of rd 7. Source.
Gideon Wrampling - Picked up an injury in the NPC and had surgery. Could be back in rd 9 or 10. Source.
Crusaders
Nil
Blues
Caleb Clarke - Tore his hamstring against the Brumbies. Expected to miss 4 weeks which is the season, but they believe he could potentially play a semi or grand final. Source.
Marcel Renata - Came off injured in rd 15.
Gone for the season:
Dillon Hunt (Blues) - Forced into early retirement due to Concussion. Source.
Harry Plummer (Blues) - Has already had surgery n his shoulder and will miss the rest of the year. Source.
Tanielu Tele'a (Blues) - Has apparently ruptured his ACL and will be out for the season. Source.
Anton Segner (Blues) - Came off with a suspected broken leg in rd 15 and won't play again this season
Anton Lienert-Brown (Chiefs) - Came off with a shoulder injury in rd 8. Had surgery and will be out for 6 months. Source.
Nathan Harris (Chiefs) - Has had to retire due to chronic ankle pain. Source.

Mitch Dunshea (Crusaders) - Tore his MCL and had surgery on it on Tuesday the 29th of March. He will be gone for the season. Source.
Joe Moody (Crusaders) - Ruptured his ACL in rd 9. Will be gone for the season. Source.
